February 15, 2018
Category: san bruno california attractions

Pacifica is a coastal city in San Mateo County, around fifteen miles southwest of downtown San Francisco and less than fourteen miles north of Half Moon Bay in California. It is a small coastal town stretching for approximately six miles along the coast marked by the hills in the north. In the midst of the lovely beaches and larger cities, Pacifica has serene valleys from Sweeney Ridge to Montara Mountain to the rocky coast along the Pacific Ocean. Needless to mention, Pacifica is a surfing haven. The first things to do and see in Pacifica are of course surfing and exploring the beaches, the most popular being Linda Mar Beach and Rockaway Beach, then comes shopping & dining, there is a newly launched Pacifica Skateboard Park that has received rave reviews, and you should also try mountain biking.

About Pacifica – A Coastal Town in California

There are quite a few interesting trails crisscrossing the hillsides around the town. You should take the Pedro Mountain Road, hike the Sweeney Ridge Trail and visit the Pacifica Pier wherefrom you may want to try your luck at fishing for some salmon or striped bass. You must visit Mori Point and the San Pedro Valley County Park. Other prominent landmarks include Sanchez Adobe, Pacifica Spindrift Players, and Milagra Ridge. Sharp Park Golf Course satiates semi-pros and amateurs alike. Do check out the bromeliad nursery at Shelldance Orchid Gardens.

The popular beaches at and around Pacifica are Rockaway Beach, Pacifica’s Secret Waterfall, Mori Point, Montara State Beach, Linda Mar Beach, Gray Whale Cove State Beach, Pacifica Pier, Pacifica State Beach, Venice Beach and Esplanade Beach. There is no shortage of restaurants in the city. You can check out all your food and dining options before you head out. A typical day in Pacifica could be loaded with swimming, scuba diving, fishing, spear fishing, crabbing, a game of golf or tennis, some bowling and biking, skateboarding, a bit of archery and horseback riding. There are art galleries and concert halls, quite a few parks and a farmers market. You can also check out the spree of current and upcoming events if you are interested.
